The Port of Tampa is the largest port in the State of Florida and is renowned for its leadership in handling bulk cargo from trade partners such as India, Mexico, Brazil, Trinidad, Canada, Russia, Australia, Japan, Argentina and Turkey. They also have emerged as one of the top ten cruise ports as well. The
port is located off I-4 which merges from the I-75 corridor that we will travel from the Naples area.
We also encourage our customers to add a day to shop in the Tampa Bay area or spend some time at Busch Gardens. The Port is also in the process of developing Channelside which is an area around the cruise terminals full of shopping, dining and IMAX cinema.

We will drive over The Sunshine Skyway Bridge, which links the south end of the Pinellas peninsula to South Florida and bridges the channel that cruise ships use to enter Tampa Bay and the Port of Tampa. The problem now is that modern cruise ships are being built too tall to pass under the Skyway Bridge leaving access to the port impossible. This could be a huge blow to the growth of Tampa's
cruise industry.
Officials are now flirting with the idea of building a multi-dock port beyond the Sunshine Skyway that could accommodate this new generation of super-massive cruise ships. The port would be located on the Gulf of Mexico side of Pinellas County and take the prospect of traveling under the Skyway out of the equation for this big ships.
